In an exclusive, TVWise can reveal that Channel 5 will not be airing the third season of Breaking Bad in the UK. The broadcaster screened the first two seasons of the acclaimed American drama but has opted not to continue with the show.
Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad follows Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who, after a cancer diagnosis, turns to cooking and selling crystal meth to provide for his family. Bryan Cranston stars as White, with Aaron Paul as his former pupil and partner in the trade, Jesse Pinkman.
Channel 5 had tucked the first two seasons away in late-night slots, where they drew only modest audiences. With the channel now stepping away, the third season is left without a confirmed UK home.
