Sky Atlantic has set a UK premiere date for Silicon Valley, the HBO comedy, with the series starting on Wednesday July 16th at 9pm.

Created by Mike Judge along with John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky, the eight-part comedy skewers the world of tech start-ups in California. Thomas Middleditch stars as Richard, a shy programmer who stumbles onto a revolutionary data-compression algorithm and sets out to build a company, Pied Piper, around it, while fending off the giants of the industry who want it for themselves.

Richard shares the start-up incubator known as the Hacker Hostel with a band of fellow misfits, among them the swaggering Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) and Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani). The series draws on creator Judge’s own days as a Silicon Valley engineer and airs exclusively on Sky Atlantic.
