Channel 4 has acquired the UK rights to two American series: the political drama Boss and the comedy The Mindy Project.
Boss, from the US network Starz, stars Kelsey Grammer as Tom Kane, the ruthless mayor of Chicago. Behind his iron grip on the city, Kane is secretly battling a degenerative brain disorder that he is desperate to hide as it starts to take hold. Grammer won a Golden Globe for the role.
The Mindy Project is a sitcom created by and starring Mindy Kaling, of The Office. She plays Dr Mindy Lahiri, an obstetrician at a New York practice whose professional competence is matched by a chaotic and comically unlucky love life. Both shows join Channel 4’s line-up of US imports.
