Sky Eyes Dedicated Comedy Channel, Acquires ‘A.P. Bio’ & ‘Sunnyside’

Sky is adding to their portfolio of channels. The satcaster has announced plans to launch a dedicated comedy channel, Sky Comedy, in February 2020. Additionally, they have secured the UK rights to NBC comedy series’ A.P. Bio and Sunnyside, both of which will air on Sky Comedy.

Sky Comedy will be the home of premium scripted US comedy from HBO, NBC and Showtime. Key titles for the channel will include: HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, Curb Your EnthusiasmBallers, and Mrs Fletcher; the aforementioned NBC shows A.P. Bio and Sunnyside; comedy titan Saturday Night Live; and talk shows The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.

The channel will be available to all Sky customers at no extra charge, through linear and on-demand. Sky Comedy will also launch on NOW TV as part of the NOW TV Entertainment Pass. It will also have a vast library of comedy favourites including Will & Grace and Parks and Recreation. Alongside Sky Comedy, Sky has also announced the launch of Sky Crime – a dedicated true crime channel featuring content from Oxygen, HBO, Jupiter and Woodcut. Sky Crime’s key launch titles will include: I Love You, Now Die and The Disappearance of Susan Cox Powell.
