BBC One Sets Premiere Date For The Capture
BBC One has set a premiere date for The Capture, with the six-part conspiracy thriller to begin on Tuesday September 3rd at 9pm.
Created, written and directed by Ben Chanan, the series is produced by David Heyman’s Heyday Television and NBCUniversal International Studios. It stars Callum Turner as Shaun Emery, a former British soldier whose conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned after the video evidence against him is found to be flawed, only for him to be implicated in a new crime by CCTV footage from a night out in London.
Holliday Grainger plays DI Rachel Carey, the ambitious detective assigned to his case, who comes to suspect the footage cannot be trusted and is drawn into a far wider conspiracy around manipulated surveillance evidence. Laura Haddock, Ben Miles and Lia Williams co-star, alongside Ron Perlman and Famke Janssen.
The drama plays on present-day anxieties about deepfake technology and mass surveillance, set against a London backdrop.
