Canadian sci-fi drama series Killjoys will receive its UK premiere on Syfy UK on Monday January 25th at 8pm, it has been announced.
Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. The drama series is produced by Temple Street Productions and stars Hannah John-Kamen (Black Mirror), Luke Macfarlane (Brothers & Sisters) and Aaron Ashmore (Warehouse 13).
The 10 episode series was created by Lost Girl‘s Michelle Lovretta and was originally commissioned by Canadian broadcaster Space back in October 2013, with Syfy boarding as a co-producer in April 2014. Temple Street Productions, who produce Orphan Black for Space and BBC America, are producing the series. The executive producers are Lovretta, David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg; while The Vampire Diaries helmer Chris Grismer is attached to direct. Space and Syfy have ordered a second season, which is now in production in Canada for a 2016 premiere.
