Michael Socha will play Lewis whose world is turned upside down when he discovers the criminal underbelly of Troy as he searches for answers to who he really is; while Michaela Coel has been cast as Lilyhot, an enigmatic and alluring alien who is deeply embroiled in one of Troy’s criminal gangs. Charlie Leech serves as the series producer, while Petra Fried, Matt Jarvis and Murray Ferguson will executive produce. Jonathan van Tulleken and Lawrence Gough are attached to direct. Production on the series began last week for a 2016 premiere on E4.
Speaking at the time that Aliens was picked up to series, Channel 4’s Roberto Troni, who commissioned the series alongside Head of Drama Piers Wenger, said: “Scabrously funny, shockingly violent and at times positively hallucinogenic, Aliens is a wry and riotous adventure into a world that is at once entirely familiar and absolutely strange. It’s a culture clash, a gangster epic, but fundamentally it is an all too human search for acceptance and identity.”
