ABC has tapped The Walking Dead alum Sunkrish Bala for a recurring role on the eighth season of their hit procedural Castle, TVWise has confirmed.
Bala, whose many television credits also includes stints on NCIS, Scorpion and Modern Family, will play Vikram Singh, a high-strung, tech analyst with a complicated past. Deadline was first to report the casting news.
Created by Andrew Marlowe, Castle follows best selling author Richard Castle who, under a prior agreement with the NYPD to observe and assist a detective squad, works alongside Detective Kate Beckett to solve some of the city’s strangest crimes. The drama series is produced by ABC Studios and stars Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Jon Huertas, Tamala Jones and Seamus Dever.
The upcoming eighth season of Castle is poised to be one of change under new showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley. Part of said change has already led to the exit of Penny Johnson Jerald, who played Captain Gates between 2011 and 2015; and the addition of The Neighbours star Toks Olagundoye as new regular Hayley, who is a former detective with Scotland Yard.
