NBC is bringing back five of their hit dramas for next season.
The peacock has handed out early renewals to The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Grimm and Law & Order Special Victims Unit – all of which will feature on the network’s fall schedule for the 2015-2016 season.
“The creative vision of the executive producers who’ve guided these outstanding dramas has been nothing short of incredible,” said Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment. “We’re highly appreciative of the passion they bring to their shows at every step of the creative process and we’re thrilled to reward that dedication with these renewals.”
The early renewals for the five drama comes as we head into the height of pilot season, which for NBC is expected to be drama heavy. It also comes less than 24 hours after NBC firmed up their plans for a potential Chicago Fire spin-off which will be set in the Chicago Medical Hospital.
With the pickups, NBC still has more than 10 series awaiting word on their future. Those series include State of Affairs, About A Boy, Marry Me, The Mysteries Of Laura, Constantine and the yet-to-premiere Hannibal, Aquarius, Allegiance and Odyssey. TVWise will have more on the odds of those shows returning later this week.
