ITV has released the trailer for the second season of their David Tennant and Olivia Colman fronted drama series Broadchurch.
Created by Chris Chibnall (Law & Order: UK), the first season of Broadchurch told the story of a small community which is rocked when the dead body of Danny Latimer is found on the beach and the ensuing police investigation. The drama series is produced by Kudos Film & TV in association with BBC America and during season one starred David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Vicky McClure, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Will Mellor and Arthur Darvill.
ITV is still not confirming plot details for the show’s second season, though it is expected to deal with the fallout from the season one finale which saw DS Miller’s (Colman) husband Joe exposed as the killer. Cast additions for the new run of episodes include Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Without A Trace), James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas), Eve Myles (Torchwood) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Bad Education).
The release of the trailer comes after the channel earlier today confirmed that the second season would premiere on Monday January 5th at 9pm. It also follows a marketing push on social media in which ITV asked fans of the show to tweet with the hashtag “#BroadchurchReturns# to unlock this trailer.
