ReelzChannel Acquires US Rights To Canadian Drama Series ‘King’, Sets Premiere For July 5th

ReelzChannel has closed a deal with Beta Film to acquire the exclusive US broadcast rights to Canadian cop drama King. The series, which aired two seasons on Showcase, is set to premiere on the cable channel on Friday July 5th at 10/9c.

Created by Bernard Zukerman and Greg Spottiswood, King follows Detective Jessica King of the Toronto Police Service, who is called in to head up the Major Crimes Task Force when her predecessor, Detective Sergeant Derek Spears, has a meltdown on national television. The drama series stars Amy Price-Francis (24) as Detective Sergeant Jessica King, Alan Van Sprang (Earth: Final Conflict) as Detective Sergeant Derek Spears, Gabriel Hogan as Danny Sless, Tony Nardi as Police Chief Peter Graci, Zoe Doyle (The Border) as Detective MK Gordon, Aaron Poole (Cra$h & Burn) as Detective Jason Collier and Suzanne Coy (Dan for Mayor) as Eleni Demaris.
