'The Night Shift' Renewed For Fourth Season At NBC – TVWise

NBC has picked up their medical drama series The Night Shift for a fourth season, TVWise has learned.
The show is expected to return to the network next Summer, though the network has yet to confirm that. There is also no word about the size of the order for season four.
“Week after week The Night Shift tells incredibly engaging and emotional stories that draw us into a unique world,” said NBC’s President of Entertainment Jennifer Salke. “We are delighted to renew the show for an exciting fourth season and look forward to continue working with such a great cast and executive producing team.”
The Night Shift has been a solid performer for NBC in each of its three Summer runs. The most recent season averaged a 1.4 rating, 5 share in the A18-49 demo and 6.8 million total viewers overall in L7 delivery; making it the #1 summer drama on the Big 4 networks.
The Nigh Shift follows the night shift team of doctors and nurses at San Antonio Memorial. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and stars Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Robert Bailey Jr., JR Lemon, Tanaya Beatty and Scott Wolf. Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah (“Freaks and Geeks,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”) serve as executive producers and writers. The Night Shift is carried in the UK by Sony Channel, who recently finished airing the show’s third season.
