ITV Orders Thriller Series ‘The Suspect’, Aidan Turner To Star
ITV has ordered The Suspect, a five episode thriller series that is based on the debut novel by Michael Robotham. Aidan Turner (Poldark, Leonardo) is attached to star as lead character Joseph O’Loughlin. 
Shalom Brune-Franklin (Our Girl, Cursed), Perry Fitzpatrick (This Is England, I Am Nicola), Andi Osho (Kiri, Curfew) and Prasanna Puwanarajah (Doctor Foster, Patrick Melrose) have joined the cast of Line Of Duty for the show's sixth season, which is now filming ahead of a late 2020 premiere.
ITV has ordered Karen Pirie, a crime drama series adapted from Val McDermid's series of novels following the young Scottish female detective set in the Scottish university town of St. Andrew’s. Three feature length episodes have been ordered for the show's first season, which is being based on the novel The Distant Echo.
ITV has ordered The Penbrokeshire Murders, a three-part true crime drama depicting the pursuit of a cold-blooded serial killer. Luke Evans (The Alienist, The Great Train Robbery) is attached to star.
BBC One has handed out a six episode series order to Showtrial, a drama series about a trial that grips the nation, placing victim and accused - as well as their families - at the heart of a media storm. It hails from Line Of Duty and Bodyguard indie World Productions.

AC-12 has found their new target. Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire, The Victim) has signed on as the guest lead for the upcoming sixth season of BBC One's Line Of Duty. She will play Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, whose unconventional conduct raises suspicions at AC-12.
