BBC One Unveils Key Art For Six-Part ‘War & Peace’ Adaptation

War & PeaceThe BBC has released the key art for their upcoming six episode War & Peace adaptation, which is set to air on BBC One in early 2016. Widely regarded as one of the greatest novels of all time, War & Peace follows five aristocratic families in 19th century Russia – a time when Alexander I was still Tsar and the French were invading Russian territory. The adaptation has been hailed as the BBC’s most ambitious project to date, without serious investment from the British public broadcaster.

A&E, History and Lifetime have taken the U.S. broadcast rights to BBC One's upcoming adaptation of the Tolstoy classic War & Peace - starring, amongst others, Jim Broadbent, Gillian Anderson and Rebecca Front - after reaching a deal with the series' North American distributor The Weinstein Company.

The BBC has rounded out the cast of their "epic" War & Peace adaptation from Mr Selfridge scribe Andrew Davies and director Tom Harper. Gillian Anderson (The Fall, The X-Files), Jim Broadbent (The Great Train Robbery) and Rebecca Front (The Thick of It) are amongst the latest cast addition to the six-part drama, which is set up at BBC Cymru Wales, Lookout Point, BBC Worldwide and Harvey Weinstein's The Weinstein Company.
