BBC Three has handed out a second season renewal to make up competition series Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make Up Star. Eight episodes have been ordered for the show's second season. Stacey Dooley returns as host, while Val Garland and Dominic Skinner will be back as judges.

BBC Three's Glow Up is taking shape. Stacey Dooley has been tapped to host the make up competition series, while industry professionals Val Garland and Dominic Skinner have been set as judges. “I’m delighted to be involved with Glow Up", Dooley said in a statement. "The make-up artists are so impressive and talented... and Val and Dominic were a scream to work with. Can’t wait to show you all it!”

BBC Four has acquired Spanish period drama The Plague in a deal with international distributor Sky Vision and given the green-light to The Dead Room, a new one-off ghost story from Mark Gatiss starring Simon Callow, Anjli Mohindra, Susan Penhaligon and Joshua Oakes-Rogers. Additionally, the channel has ordered a new factual series about the Yorkshire Ripper and a science documentary about eugenics. The programming announcements were made today by BBC Four Controller Cassian Harrison during a joint Meet The Controller session with BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland at the Edinburgh TV Festival. Several months after introducing a third editorial pillar - namely for content that qualifies as "feel-good, entertaining propositions" - BBC Three has commissioned their first two series under the expanded remit. Makeover series Glow Up, which is at its heart a competition to look for the next big make-up star of tomorrow, and relationship series Couples On The Couch have both been picked up at the online channel. Glow Up has received an order for eight episodes, while six episodes have been ordered for Couples On The Couch.
