UKTV Continues Originals Push With 4 New Series For Dave, Gold & W
UKTV is continuing their aggressive originals push with four new series for Dave, Gold and flagship entertainment channel W. The announcement was made today at the company's UKTV Live event at BFI. The new commissions include Lizard Lick Touring, a new ten parter featuring Lizard Lick Towing star Ron Shirley for Dave; We Have Been Watching, a Gogglebox-like format for Gold; Used Car Wars, a factual entertainment series for Dave which is set in the world of second hand car sales; and Dr Christian Will See You, a new series featuring Dr Christian Jessen for W. 
UKTV's flagship channel W is continuing their originals push with two new documentary series: Dancing For The Weekend, from Sony's Electric Ray; and The Dressing Room, which hails from STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment. Both series have received six episode orders.
The third season of FX's vampire drama The Strain will receive its UK premiere on UKTV's flagship entertainment channel W on Friday September 9th at 9pm, it has been announced. 
NBC's drama series Grimm will return to UKTV's Watch channel after the Winter break to finish airing its fifth season from Tuesday January 26th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Watch's latest high-profile U.S. drama acquisition is getting a major advertising push. Parent company UKTV is to roll out a promo for the Marica Gay Harden fronted medical drama Code Black across all ten of their channels and on-demand platform UKTV Play, TVWise has learned. 
UKTV is expanding their relationship with Disney. The commercial network, which is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive, has sealed a deal with Disney Media Distribution for the exclusive UK rights to Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, FBI drama Quantico and medical drama Code Black. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Code Black will air on Watch, while Quantico will air on Alibi.
