Channel 5 Extends ‘Big Brother’ Deal Through 2018
Big Brother is staying put on Channel 5. The Viacom owned broadcaster has extended its deal with Endemol Shine International for the reality format for a further three years, through 2018. Under said agreement, Channel 5 will continue to broadcast two seasons of Celebrity Big Brother and one season of Big Brother each year - all of which will be produced by Endemol Shine UK's indie Initial. 
Katie Keenan, who is currently serving as Channel 5's Head of Acquisitions, is getting an expanded role that spans across VIMN's portfolio of UK channels that will see her on responsibility for acquisitions for Channel 5, MTV, Comedy Central and Spike - which is set to launch in the UK in the spring of 2015.

Viacom International Media Networks has announced plans to launch a local version of US cable network Spike TV in the UK.
