Joy Of Techs, a half-hour tech format fronted by real-life friends Marcus Brigstocke and Alexis Conran, has been been picked up to series by UKTV's Dave channel with a ten episode order, TVWise has learned. The series is set to premiere in 2017. 
UKTV's flagship channel W is continuing their originals push with two new documentary series: Dancing For The Weekend, from Sony's Electric Ray; and The Dressing Room, which hails from STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment. Both series have received six episode orders. 
The third season of FX's vampire drama The Strain will receive its UK premiere on UKTV's flagship entertainment channel W on Friday September 9th at 9pm, it has been announced. 
This year is shaping up quite nicely for UKTV. In their just-released 2016 interim results, the company has revealed that their SOCI (Share Of Commercial Impacts), as well as audience share and VOD viewership have all grown significantly in the first six months of the year. UKTV is sticking with Ericsson. The commercial broadcaster is extending their contract with the company in a new multi-year deal, encompassing playout, video-on-demand and access services, TVWise has learned. UKTV is teaming up with comedian Matt Forde for a new political comedy series. The company's Dave channel, which continues to rank as the UK's number one non-PSB, has handed out a six episode order to Unspun With Matt Forde, TVWise has learned. 
UKTV is adding another exclusive scripted series to Drama's programming slate. The commercial network, which is as joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive, has closed a deal with Sony Pictures Television to acquire the exclusive UK rights to the Lifetime miniseries The Red Tent for their free-to-air Drama channel, TVWise has learned. The miniseries will premiere in early 2017. 
The sixth season of USA Network’s legal dramedy Suits will receive its UK premiere on UKTV’s Dave channel on Sunday July 17th at 10pm, it has been announced.
