W Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘American Housewife’

ABC's comedy series American Housewife will receive its UK premiere on UKTV's W channel on Wednesday September 5th at 8pm with a double-bill, it has been announced.

No Deal On The Horizon In UKTV & Virgin Media Carriage Dispute

A resolution to the carriage dispute which saw all ten of UKTV's channel brands removed from the Virgin Media platform on July 22nd does not appear to be on the horizon. After multiple volleys on social media from both sides over the past week or so, the two companies had re-engaged in talks in hopes of finding a solution. But now UKTV claims that, when a deal was in sight, Virgin Media backed out of a verbal agreement. TVWise has reached out to Virgin Media for comment.

Dr Christian Jessen is getting another series on W. Mere months after commissioning 12 Hours To Cure Your Street, the UKTV owned and operated channel has given the greenlight to Dr Christian: Special Clinics. The series is set to air on W later this year.

Alibi Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Ten Days In The Valley’

ABC's short-lived Kyra Sedgwick fronted drama Ten Days In The Valley will receive its UK premiere on UKTV's Alibi channel on Monday August 13th at 10pm, and will then continue to air weekdays in the same time-slot.

UKTV’s Gold Channel Orders ‘Murder On The Blackpool Express’ Sequel ‘Death On The Tyne’

Following the runaway success of last year's Murder On The Blackpool Express, UKTV's Gold channel has given the greenlight to sequel film Death On The Tyne. Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson are on-board to reprise their roles as Terry and Gemma, respectively. Death On The Tyne sees Terry and Gemma take Mildred and her care home friends, including Hilda and Colleen on an Amsterdam cruise adventure across the Tyne. They’re welcomed aboard the Empress of the Tyne by ageing lothario Captain Jack and his motley crew. It’s not long before things start to go awry in the most puzzling mystery the Tyne has ever seen.
