Alibi Acquires Australian Drama ‘Rush’, Sets February Premiere

Alibi has acquired Australian police drama Rush after striking a deal with international distributor Endemol Shine International. The show's first season will premiere on the UKTV owned and operated channel on Monday February 4th at 5pm. TVWise understands that UKTV holds rights to the first two seasons.

Robert Bathurst (Cold Feet), Kevin R. McNally (Pirates Of The Caribbean), and Bernard Cribbins (Doctor Who) have been cast in Gold's Dad's Army: The Lost Episodes, a series of remakes of episodes from the second season of Dad's Army that were lost as a result of the BBC's archival policy during the 1960s and 1970s.

UKTV’s W Renews ‘Emma Willis: Delivering Babies’ For Second Season, Orders ‘Meet The Babies’ Special

UKTV's W channel has handed out a second season renewal to Emma Willis: Delivering Babies. Eight episodes have been ordered for the show's second season. Additionally, W has ordered a one-off special, titled Emma Willis: Meet The Babies, in which she revisits the parents and babies she met during Delivering Babies. Delivering Babies follows Emma on a busy maternity ward. In season one she was training on the job, while in season two she is a fully-qualified Maternity Care Assistant.

Back2Back Hires Scott McDonald For Development Role, Secures Greenlight From UKTV’s Dave Channel For ‘Mega Air’

Back2Back is continuing to staff up. The Brighton based indie has hired Scott McDonald to serve as a Senior Development Producer. He joins the development team, led by Holly Bigsby, where he will focus on bolstering the Back2Back's growing slate of returning brands and franchises. In addition to this executive hire, Back2Back has also secured a greenlight from UKTV’s Dave channel for Mega Air, a sister series to returning franchise Mega Shippers.

UKTV's Alibi channel has secured the UK rights to Australian drama series Bite Club, starring Lost's Dominic Monaghan, after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television. While a firm launch date has not yet been set, it is presently eyed for a February premiere.

W Releases Trailer For ‘Flack’

UKTV's W channel has released the trailer for their upcoming original drama Flack, starring Anna Paquin (True Blood), which is set to premiere next month.

UKTV Originals Among Top Rated Shows On Network In 2018

UKTV's originals push is paying off. Last year, original commissions were amongst the top-rated programmes on six of the channels (Dave, W, Gold, Drama, Yesterday and Really) across the network and also drove growth for VOD service UKTV Play.
