Thorpe Park Brings ‘The Walking Dead’ Attractions To UK
The walkers are crossing the pond. Thorpe Park is set to launch two new attractions based on AMC's hit zombie drama The Walking Dead - which airs on this side of the pond on FOX UK - after striking a deal with the U.S. cable network.
The eighth season of The Walking Dead will receive its UK premiere on FOX UK on Monday October 23rd at 9pm, it has been announced.
In news surprising no one, The Walking Dead returned to UK screens this week, revealing who fell victim to Negan, to record ratings. Per FOX UK, who have been the first run broadcaster for the series since day one, the show's seventh season premiere managed a total audience of 1.43 million viewers. That number - which counts the 2am simulcast, the regular 9pm broadcast and the 11:25pm encore - makes it the top rated season launch ever for the channel.
AMC has handed out a seventh season renewal to ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead, the network announced on Friday. Sixteen episodes have been ordered for season seven, which is set to premiere next fall.
The Walking Dead is continuing to grow its audience here in the UK. Despite a dip in the ratings for the series in the United States, the sixth season premiere of the AMC zombie drama smashed ratings records for UK broadcaster FOX UK with an average overnight audience of 877 000 viewers. Additionally, the Chris Hardwick fronted Talking Dead got off to a strong start last night, pulling in an average overnight audience of 205K viewers.
