Sky Atlantic Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘True Detective’ Season 3
The third season of True Detective will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday January 14th at 2am, simulcast with HBO’s east-coast feed. The season premiere will also be repeated later that same day in the show’s regular 9pm time-slot.
More than two years after the show's second season wrapped its run, HBO has officially pulled the trigger and given a green-light to a third season of Nic Pizzolatto's anthology series True Detective. House Of Cards star Mahershala Ali is on-board to star in the new season.
HBO is staying in business with Nic Pizzolatto. The premium cable network has inked a new overall deal with the True Detective creator which will keep him based at HBO through to at least 2018. This marks the third such overall deal they have agreed with Pizzolatto, after signing similar such deals with the writer/producer in 2012 (to land True Detective in the first place) and then again in 2014, ahead of the season two renewal.
Sky Atlantic is fast tracking the second season of HBO's True Detective. The channel has announced that they will debut the second season of the anthology series on Monday June 22nd at 9pm - less than 24 hours behind the US broadcast on HBO. Additionally, Sky Atlantic will also simulcast the season premiere with HBO's east-coast feed at 2am
HBO has released the first trailer for the second season of True Detective, which is set to premiere on Sunday June 21st at 9/8c.
