Netflix has renewed comic book adaptation The Umbrella Academy for a second season. The pick up, which is for a further ten episodes, comes more than six weeks after the first season was released on the global streaming service. The Umbrella Academy will premiere on Netflix UK on Friday February 15th, it has been announced. The Umbrella Academy tells the story forty-three infants who, on the same day in 1989, are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world. Now, the six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father's passing and must work together to solve a mystery surrounding his death.
