The StrainFX has renewed their hit vampire drama The Strain for a 13 episode third season, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf announced during the company's executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. The network has also picked up two new comedy series and set premiere dates for 'The Bastard Executioner', 'American Horror Story: Hotel' and the second season of 'Fargo'.

While all eyes are inevitably on which new shows from the 2015-2016 season will be headed to the UK, TVWise will be taking a look at the current roster of U.S. scripted series, confirming which shows will in fact be returning to their UK broadcasters. The Strain (Episode 2)After initially slating it for a Summer premiere when they announced the rest of their schedule, FX has announced that the second season of their Guillermo del Toro drama The Strain will kick off on Sunday July 12th at 10/9c.

FX Sets Summer Premiere Dates For ‘Tyrant’, ‘Married’ & ‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’

FX is the latest network to unveil their Summer schedule. The cabler announced Wednesday that they had set premiere dates for the second seasons of Tyrant and comedy Married, as well as a launch date for new comedy Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. FX also said that the second season of The Strain, from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse, will premiere this Summer, though no formal date has been set.
