‘The Simpsons’ Voice Cast Staying Intact After Harry Shearer Inks New Deal
The Simpsons cast is staying intact. Harry Shearer, who voices more than 20 characters, has inked a new deal with Fox and 20th Century Fox Television to continue with the show through its already green-lit twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth seasons. Additionally, his deal, which is understood to be worth $300 000 per episode, also gives Fox an option for two additional seasons (the show's twenty-ninth and thirtieth).
The Simpsons are not going anywhere. Fox has renewed the long-running animated comedy for a further two seasons, the show's twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth. The two-season pick up, which will keep The Simpsons on air through at least the 2016-2017 season, ensures that some 625 episodes will have been produced by the end of season 28.
