Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders, MotherFatherSon) has signed on to star opposite Hugh Laurie (House, Chance) in Roadkill, BBC One's four-part political thriller from David Hare. She will play Prime Minister Dawn Ellison.
Channel 4 has released the trailer for their upcoming Jack Thorne drama The Accident (formerly known as The Light). The Accident is set in the fictional Welsh town of Glyngolau and explores a forgotten community devastated by disaster. An explosion on the construction site of a much-needed and sought-after regeneration project in this “left-behind” town claims the lives of many children who have broken into the building site to make mischief.
BBC One has ordered Roadkill, a four-part political thriller from The Worricker Trilogy scribe David Hare and independent production company The Forge. Hugh Laurie (House, Chance) is attached to star in the lead role as Conservative minister Peter Laurence.
Channel 4 has ordered Generation Z, a six episode satirical zombie comedy drama from Ben Wheatley. It is being produced by The Forge - the independent production company behind Jack Thorne's trilogy of Channel 4 dramas (National Treasure, Kiri, and The Light).

Channel 4 is adding to the cast of Ackley Bridge. Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey) and Charlie Hardwick (Emmerdale) have joined the cast of the high school drama for its upcoming third season, which is now filming in Halifax.
