Syfy is getting in on the anthology series trend, which all started a few years ago with Ryan Murphy's FX series American Horror Story. The network has put into development Channel Zero, a horror anthology from Universal Cable Productions, Max Landis and Nick Antosca.

Syfy is turning to prolific producer Steven Spielberg's production banner Amblin Television for their next drama project. The network is teaming with Amblin to develop an hour-long drama series based on Aldous Huxley’s classic novel Brave New World, which was first published in 1932.

Syfy has handed out a series order to The Magicians, an hour-long adaptation of the Lev Grossman novel series of the same name from Universal Cable Productions and Aquarius creator John McNamara. The project, which landed a pilot order late last year, has received an order for 12 episodes.

Syfy has cancelled their CDC drama series Helix after airing two seasons of the series starring The Killing's Billy Campbell. The cancellation comes nearly three weeks after the season two finale aired on Syfy and after the show suffered a significant ratings drop in its most recent run.

Syfy has unveiled their Summer schedule and set premiere dates for the third season of Defiance; the second season of Dominion; new sci-fi series Dark Matter, from Stargate's Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi; and Killjoys, starring Warehouse 13 alum Aaron Ashmore.

Syfy is teaming with Zachary Levi for a new game show. The NBCU owned cable network has given the green-light to Geeks Who Drink, a weekly game show hosted and executive produced by Zachary Levi which is based on the pub trivia contest of the same name.

It's official: Syfy is getting into business with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. More than five months after putting the project into development, the network has handed out a pilot order to "futuristic espionage thriller" Incorporated, which is set up at Damon and Affleck's production company Pearl Street Films, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions.
