Sky1 has closed a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to CBS' upcoming DC series Supergirl, TVWise has learned. The series is expected to premiere on Sky1 this October, shortly after it debuts in the United States.

The Muppets was the first show from the upcoming 2015-2016 season to be acquired by a UK broadcaster, but what other shows will be coming to these shores by the end of next May? TVWise has pinned down four (when technically five) shows that are close to being snapped up by UK broadcasters. Said shows include NBC's Blindspot, starring Strike Back's Sullivan Stapleton; Showtime's Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti fronted Billions; USA Network's hacker drama Mr. Robot; and CBS' Supergirl, which was identified across the board as a target for a number of UK broadcasters ahead of the LA Screenings.

Meet the new Supergirl.
