StarzPlay Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Counterpart’ Season 2
The second season of Starz's J.K. Simmons fronted thriller Counterpart will receive its UK premiere on StarzPlay – which is available exclusively in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels – on Sunday December 9th, it has been announced. 
J.K. Simmons' (The Closer) newest TV drama is coming to the UK. StarzPlay – which is available exclusively in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels – has acquired Counterpart from international distributor Sony Pictures Television. The show's first season will be available to stream for StarzPlay subscribers from Friday September 28th. This marks the second major deal between Sony and StarzPlay since the service launch on Amazon Prime Video UK earlier this year. Back in July, the two companies also
StarzPlay is adding another first run acquisition to their slate. The channel - which is available exclusively in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels - has picked up UK rights to Audience network's Stephen King adaptation Mr. Mercedes after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television. The show's first season is now available to StarzPlay subscribers as of today. Season two will premiere on Thursday August 23rd, less than 24 hours behind the U.S. broadcast on Audience. 
Starz is coming to the UK. The US premium cable network has launched StarzPlay on this side of the pond via Amazon's Prime Video Channels service, which allows consumers to subscribe to premium channels for £4.99 a month.
