‘Outlander’ Scoop: Frances De La Tour To Play Mother Hildegarde
Outlander has found its Mother Hildergarde. Vicious star Frances de la Tour has been cast as the commanding Mother Superior in the upcoming 13 episode second season of Starz's hit period drama Outlander, which is currently in production in Scotland for a 2016 premiere.
After being stuck in development hell for years (most recently at HBO), an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods is one step closer to becoming a reality. Starz has handed out a straight-to-series order to the project, which has been developed by Hannibal's Bryan Fuller and Michael Green (The River). The series order, the size of which has not been officially set, is cast contingent, with the start of production dependent on casting the lead role of Shadow Moon.
Less than 24 hours after outstripping Spartacus to become Starz's highest rated original series, the network has picked up a third season of their hour-long drama series Power, starring 50 Cent. 10 episodes have been ordered for the show's third season, which is slated to premiere in 2016.
Starz is continuing to build the cast of Outlander. Mere days after casting Audrey Brisson as Sister Angelique, French actor Dominique Piñon has been tapped for a starring role on the show's 13 episode second season.
EXCLUSIVE: Established stage actress Audrey Brisson has joined the cast of Starz's hit period drama Outlander for its upcoming second season, TVWise has learned. The 13 episode second season is now in production in Scotland for a 2016 premiere on Starz.
