Sky Vision - Sky's production and international distribution division - has secured a life-of-series distribution agreement with French broadcaster and platform Altice for Sky Atlantic's period drama Britannia. Additionally, under this deal, Altice Studios will now serve as a co-producer on all future seasons of the show.

BBC Four has acquired Spanish period drama The Plague in a deal with international distributor Sky Vision and given the green-light to The Dead Room, a new one-off ghost story from Mark Gatiss starring Simon Callow, Anjli Mohindra, Susan Penhaligon and Joshua Oakes-Rogers. Additionally, the channel has ordered a new factual series about the Yorkshire Ripper and a science documentary about eugenics. The programming announcements were made today by BBC Four Controller Cassian Harrison during a joint Meet The Controller session with BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland at the Edinburgh TV Festival. Save Me is crossing the pond. International distributor Sky Vision has sold the Lennie James and Suranne Jones fronted drama to Starz - the U.S. premium cable network behind such shows as Outlander and The White Princess. It will premiere state-side on September 6th.

Mark Strong (Low Winter Sun) has been set as the lead in Sky One eight episode comic thriller Temple, which is set in the secret world beneath London. Carice van Houten, (Game of Thrones) and Daniel Mays (Line of Duty) have also been cast in the series. In Temple, deep below the streets of London, descending past Temple tube in the beating heart of the city, lies a dark secret. An illegal clinic has been set up in an abandoned subterranean network of tunnels. They treat a variety of increasingly desperate and highly dangerous patients.

Sky Vision has locked down a new U.S. partner for Fortitude. Sky's international sales division has sold the arctic crime drama to Amazon Prime Video in the United States. The first season of the show has been available on the streaming service since last January and the second season - now marketed as an Amazon Original Series - will premiere later this year.
