'The West Wing' and 'Parks & Recreation' star Rob Lowe has been cast as the lead in Sky1's 10 episode drama series 'Apocalypse Slough'. In addition, NBC - the network behind such hits as Hannibal and Chicago Fire - has boarded the project and will air the series in the United States. 
Sky1 has ordered a 4 episode adaptation of the classic Raymond Briggs children's book 'Fungus The Bogeyman', which is eyed for a key slot on the channel's Christmas 2015 schedule. 
Sky1 has released the first trailer for their newest acquisition 'Ascension', which stars Tricia Helfer and Brian Van Holt. Syfy's six-hour miniseries Ascension will receive its UK premiere on Sky1 on Friday January 16th at 9pm, it has been announced. 
Sky1 has green-lit production on Silver Surfers (working title), a six episode cross-generational series which is described as a "social experiment" that aims to explore the digital generation gap.
