ITV has tapped True Blood star Stephen Moyer for the lead role in the second season of their event drama Safe House, TVWise has learned. He replaces Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston, who led the cast in season one. Originally Eccleston and the core cast from season one had been set to return, but after he pulled out in June, the second season was re-conceived with the setting of the series being shifted from the Lake District to Wales.
ITV has picked up a second season of their "event series" Safe House starring Christopher Eccelston (Fortitude), Marsha Thomason (White Collar) and Paterson Joseph (Law & Order: UK). Four episodes have been ordered for season two, which is set to enter production in the Lake District in February 2016.
