UKTV’s SOCI Hits 8.07% In 2020; ‘Red Dwarf’ & ‘Meet The Richardsons’ Draw Strong Ratings
2020 was a strong year for UKTV. The commercial broadcaster has announced that they achieved a 8.07% SOCI (share of commercial impacts), up 4% year-to-year. Additionally, UKTV's network share grew by 3.2% to hit 4.63%. 
Red Dwarf is returning to Dave. The UKTV channel has commissioned a feature-length special of the hit sci-fi comedy series to air in 2020. The special, which is set up at Baby Cow Productions, is being penned and directed by series co-creator Doug Naylor. Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn are all on-board to reprise their roles as Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten. Richard Naylor is the producer. It will be filmed on location and at Pinewood in front of a live studio audience. Christine Langan is the executive producer.
Dave has renewed hit sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf for two more seasons, the show's eleventh and twelfth. The UKTV owned and operated channel has ordered a further 12 episodes which will be evenly split across Red Dwarf XI and Red Dwarf XII. Production begins this summer, with Red Dwarf XI eyed for a 2016 premiere and Red Dwarf XII following in 2017.
