Peaky Blinders is getting a promotion. The period drama from Steven Knight is relocating from its long-time home on BBC Two and moving to BBC One for its upcoming fifth season. The announcement was made today by the BBC's Director of Content Charlotte Moore at the Edinburgh TV Festival.

BBC Two has renewed their period gangster drama Peaky Blinders for an additional two seasons, TVWise has learned. Elsewhere, the channel has also given the green-light to The Boy With The Topknot, an adaptation of the memoir of the same name by Sathnam Sanghera.

BBC Two is adding to the cast of Peaky Blinders. Paddy Considine (Pride), Dina Korzun (Last Resort) and Jan Bijvoet (Cordon) have joined the 1930s-set gangster drama for its upcoming six episode third season, TVWise has learned. Production on the new season gets underway tomorrow for a 2016 premiere.
