Rachel DiPillo & Torrey DeVitto Join NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’ As Series Regulars

Rachel DiPilloRachel DiPillo (Jane The Virgin) and Torrey DeVitto (The Vampire Diaries) have joined the cast of NBC's latest Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago Med as series regulars, TVWise has learned. DiPillo, who has also enjoyed stints on such shows as NCIS, Mad Men and Emily Owens, M.D., will play Dr. Sarah Reese, an emergency room intern who’s fresh out of medical school. While DeVitto has been cast as Dr. Lilly Manning, a pregnant ER physician. Her previous television credits include Pretty Little Liars, Army Wives, One Tree Hill and Beautiful People.

NBCNBC is getting back into business with the creators of their cult comedy series Parks & Recreation and 30 Rock. The network has handed out a 13 episode straight-to-series order to an untitled comedy from Pars & Recreation creator Michael Schur; while a sitcom set behinds the scenes at a Cable News Network from 30 Rock and Inbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Tina Fey and Robert Carlock has been picked up to pilot.

Laurie Holden - Major CrimesNBC's Chicago Med is losing one of its main cast members. Laurie Holden, whose long list of credits include The Walking Dead and Major Crimes, is exiting the Chicago Fire spin-off due to "family reasons". Her departure comes several months before the series is set to debut this November. She was one of the few members of the main cast who appeared in the back-door pilot, which aired as an episode of Chicago Fire's third season.

Brian TeeHawaii Five-0 and Grimm alum Brian Tee has joined the cast of NBC's Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago Med as a series regular. Tee, who starred in Fox pilot Love Is A Four-Letter Word, will play a resident at the hospital who found his calling in medicine after several tours of duty as an Army medic.

NBC Shifts ‘Aquarius’ & ‘Hannibal’ To Saturday Nights

AquariusNBC has made a late scheduling change to their Summer line-up. Effective immediately both Aquarius and Hannibal, which launched to much fanfare on Thursday Nights back in early June, are being shunted to Saturday nights to finish their respective runs.
