The Chicago franchise is losing two original cast members. Colin Donnell is exiting Chicago Med, while Jon Seda is exiting Chicago PD. Both are departing due to creative reasons related to the arcs of their characters. Despite the exits as regulars, guest appearances down the road remain a possibility.

NBC has renewed supernatural drama Manifest for a second season. It is the latest in a string of pick ups for the network and comes after they recently handed out renewals to Law & Order: Special Victims Unitand Good Girls.

NBC has handed out an early renewal to drama series Good Girls. The series, which airs on this side of the pond on Netflix UK, will return for its third season. "We're so excited to continue following the friendship and adventures of these three incredible women while also exploring relatable issues in both funny and surprising ways," said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming for NBC Entertainment. Fresh off of scoring a record breaking renewal, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is losing a cast member. Philip Winchester (Strike Back, The Player), who plays Peter Stone, is exiting the long running drama ahead of its twenty-first season. The Stone character originated on the short-lived Chicago PD spin-off Chicago Justice and is the son of the mothership Law & Order's original lead prosecutor Ben Stone (Michael Moriarty), After Justice was cancelled, Winchester joined the cast of SVU in a recurring role for season 19, before becoming a regular in season 20.

SVU is breaking TV records. NBC has renewed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for a twenty-first season. With the pick-up, the series breaks the record for longest running prime-time drama series that was previously jointly held by Law & Order and Gunsmoke.

So long Reverie. NBC has cancelled the sci-fi drama starring Sarah Shahi and Dennis Haysbert after a single low-rated season. Reverie's live+same day ratings hovered around 2 million viewers during its summer run, making a second season a long-shot at best. The series aired on this side of the pond on SYFY UK.

Freshman medical drama New Amsterdam, starring Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist) and Freema Agyeman (Law & Order: UK), has been picked up for a full season order by NBC. With the formal back-nine order, the show's first season will now consist of twenty-two episodes. New Amsterdam is the first new show of the 2018-2019 broadcast seasons to score a full season order.
