CBC and production company Shaftesbury Films have released a trailer and first look image showing Star Trek star William Shatner in character as Mark Twain from an upcoming episode of period drama Murdoch Mysteries. 
William Shatner has been tapped for a guest starring role on the CBC/UKTV co-production Murdoch Mysteries for its upcoming 18 episode ninth season, which is now in production in Canada for an Autumn 2015 premiere on CBC and a 2016 premiere on UKTV's Alibi channel. 
Ovation hit a distribution milestone this year and is now available in some 52 million homes; and the network's year-to-date prime time household ratings jumped 32% compared to last year. The Arts focused network be debuting the eighth season of 'Murdoch Mysteries' (known as 'The Artful Detective' on Ovation) on Saturday February 21st at 7/6c. Alibi has set a UK premiere date for the eighth season of their co-production 'Murdoch Mysteries'.
