Ghosts is joining the BBC's Christmas schedule. BBC One has ordered a Christmas special to air in 2020. The news comes just ahead of the launch of the show's second season on BBC One on Monday (September 21st) at 8:30pm. As TVWise previously reported, a third season has already been commissioned.

Ghosts is coming back for a third season. In news that largely flew under the radar, when BBC One renewed the comedy series from the Horrible Histories team for a second season back in May, they also picked up a third season. The BBC's Director of Content Charlotte Moore made the announcement earlier this evening as part of a wider speech on the future of the iPlayer.

BBC One Renews ‘Ghosts’ For Second Season

BBC One has handed out a second season renewal to Ghosts, their new comedy series from the Horrible Histories team of Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Ghosts is the highest rated comedy so far this year with a consolidated average audience of 3.7 million viewers.
