ITV has released the trailer for the third season of Marcella, which is set to premiere in 2021.
ITV is adding to the cast of Marcella. Hugo Speer (The Musketeers, Britannia, The Full Monty) and Amanda Burton (Waterloo Road, Silent Witness) have joined the cast of the Anna Friel fronted drama for season three. Speer's promotion to series regular comes after he made a brief appearance in the season two finale.
ITV has handed out a second season renewal to their Anna Friel fronted drama series Marcella, which hails from The Bridge creator Hans Rosenfeldt and Buccaneer Media. Eight episodes have been ordered for season two, which will air in 2017.
ITV has set the core cast for Marcella. Anna Friel, who most recently starred in NBC's thriller series American Odyssey (pictured), has been tapped to play the lead in the eight episode cop drama from Broen (AKA The Bridge) creator Hans Rosenfeld, TVWise has learned. Jamie Bamber (The Smoke) and Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey) have also been cast.
ITV is teaming up with Broen (AKA The Bridge) creator Hans Rosenfeldt for Marcella, an eight episode contemporary crime drama series set in London which is being hailed as "Scandinavian noir on the streets of Britain". The project, which is the first Rosenfeldt has created specificially for the UK market, is set to enter production in the capital this Autumn for a 2016 premiere.
