Mainstreet Pictures Developing ‘The Five’ Adaptation, Gwyneth Hughes To Pen Scripts

Mainstreet Pictures has optioned the TV rights to The Five, historian Hallie Rubenhold's untold story of Jack The Ripper's five victims. The indie set up in 2013 by former ITV drama execs Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes has tapped Vanity Fair scribe Gwyneth Hughes to pen the scripts for the TV adaptation.

BBC One’s ‘Age Before Beauty’ Cancelled After One Season

It's one and done for BBC One's Age Before Beauty. The BBC quietly cancelled the Debbie Horsfield penned beauty salon drama set in Manchester late last year, TVWise has confirmed. "We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to make room for new shows and Age Before Beauty won't be returning for a second series", a BBC Spokesperson said. "We are incredibly proud of the show and would like to thank Debbie and all those involved.”

ITV’s ‘Unforgotten’ Renewed For Fourth Season

ITV has handed out a fourth season renewal to their hit cold case crime drama Unforgotten. Six episodes have been ordered for the show's fourth season, which is expected to air in 2019. The renewal comes after the season three finale managed a consolidated audience of 6.9 million viewers.

Ben Barnes (Westworld) has been cast to star opposite Julia Ormond in BBC One's six episode drama series Gold Digger. He will play Benjamin Golding, the thirty something copywriter with a shrouded past who becomes involved with an older woman, Julia Day (Ormond).

TV Trailer: ‘Unforgotten’ Season 3 On ITV

ITV has released the trailer for the third season of Unforgotten, which is set to premiere next month. In seasons three, Alex Jennings (The Crown) Kevin R. McNally (Designated Survivor), Neil Morrissey (Line Of Duty) and James Fleet (Indian Summers) play a close-knit group of old school friends that have stood by one another through thick and thin. However, when the body of a teenage girl who went missing at the turn of the millenium is found at a building site off the M1 motorway, the four men are placed under the spotlight and their relationships are tested to the limit.
