The fifth season of CBS’ State department drama series Madam Secretary will receive its UK premiere on Sky Witness on Thursday December 13th at 9pm, it has been announced.
CBS on Thursday handed out renewals to some thirteen of their scripted series, eleven of which currently have UK homes. Those eleven series to get the nod for the 2017-2018 broadcast season are: Madam Secretary (Sky Living), NCIS: Los Angeles (Sky1), Kevin Can Wait (E4), Blue Bloods (Sky Atlantic), NCIS: New Orleans (Channel 5), Bull (FOX UK), Mom (ITV2), Life In Pieces (Amazon Prime Video UK), MacGyver (Sky1), Hawaii Five-0 (Sky1) and Scorpion (ITV2).

Former Law & Order and Crossing Jordan star Jill Hennessy has booked a recurring role on CBS' Téa Leoni fronted State Department drama Madam Secretary, TVWise has learned. She will play Jane Fellows, Henry's (Tim Daly) new Defense Intelligence Agency handler, who is a commanding yet discreet political operator known for keeping cool in a crisis and who may not always see eye to eye with him.
Madeline Albright, who served as the first female US Secretary of State during President Clinton's second term in office from 1997-2001, has been tapped for a guest starring role on the second season of CBS' State Department drama Madam Secretary. The former SecState will play herself in an episode, which is set to air this Fall on CBS. In the episode Albright advises Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) on how to navigate a sticky situation with National Security Advisor Craig Sterling (Julian Acosta), that is threatening to fracture her relationship with President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine).
