Channel 4 Renews ‘The Great British Bake Off’ Through 2021, Orders Kids Spin-Off ‘Junior Bake Off’

The Great British Bake Off is staying put on Channel 4. The PSB and Love Productions have inked a new agreement which will see the series remain on air through its twelfth season in 2021. The tenth season is expected to launch on Channel 4 this summer. Alongside the renewal of the main series, under this new deal Channel 4 has commissioned Junior Bake Off, a kids focussed spin-off that aired on CBBC when the franchise lived at the Beeb.

That didn't take long. Mere hours after talks broke down between the BBC and Love Productions, Channel 4 has signed a three-year deal with the Sky owned indie which will see them become the exclusive broadcaster for The Great British Bake Off.

TGBBOThe BBC has lost the rights to The Great British Bake Off after lengthy negotiations with indie Love Productions broke down, TVWise has confirmed. While there has been talk all year of a bidding war to poach the show from the BBC, sources insist that there is no impending deal, as there have been no formal talks with any broadcasters other than the Beeb.
