Lionsgate has boarded Costa, the supernatural crime drama that hails from Gaby Chiappe, Alex Perrin and BlackBox Multimedia. Lionsgate will co-produce and serve as the international distributor for the series. 
BBC One has ordered The Goes Wrong Show, a six episode TV adaptation of Mischief Theatre's The Play That Goes Wrong. The series order comes after the BBC previously commissioned and aired TV adaptations of Mischief's Peter Pan Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. 
Following a a soft-launch last year, ProgramBuyer has launched as of today. Additionally, Lionsgate has boarded the screening service - marking the 75th distribution company to offer their content on ProgramBuyer. 
Nevision and Lionsgate have inked a deal to co-develop and produce Oil, an eight episode geo-political thriller series which hails from Alan Whiting (Kingdom), Matthew Faulk (Titanic: Blood & Steel) and Mark Skeet (Vanity Fair). Oil is set in the early 1970s in the Persian Gulf and follows the hedonistic world of ex-pats. They are a powerful, displaced people in a foreign land they all but own and who consider the black gold under the desert theirs to take. But what they don’t know is that they are sitting on a powder keg and it’s about to blow. Lionsgate has taken a stake in Primal Media, the new independent production company that was recently set up by Gogglebox Entertainment founder Mat Steiner and Adam Wood. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Lionsgate has hired Mark James and Fabio Etienne-Tinchant to serve as sales directors based out of the company's London office
