Lifetime is adding two new TV movies to their Ripped From The Headlines slate. The network has greenlit production on 53 Days: The Abduction Of Mary Stauffer, starring Alyson Hannigan (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, American Pie), and Saving Alex, a gay conversion therapy drama. 
Lifetime has pulled the plug on Devious Maids. The female skewing network has cancelled the soapy drama, from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, after four seasons, TVWise has confirmed.

The female skewing network has given the green-light to Un-Break My Heart, a TV movie based on Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton’s memoir Un-Break My Heart, TVWise has learned. Lifetime has renewed their newest original drama series UnREAL for a second season. 10 episodes have been ordered for the show's sophomore run, matching the size of the order for the first season. 
Several weeks after announcing plans to reboot iconic miniseries Roots, A+E Networks has found the first actor for the new take on the property, which will air simultaneous on A&E, History and Lifetime in 2016. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Hannibal star Laurence Fishburne has boarded the event series as a regular and will play Alex Haley, the author of the novel that the 1970s miniseries and this new reboot is based on.
