ITV has released three first look images from the second season of Liar. The first season wrapped its run in October 2017 and closed with the discovery of Andrew Earlham’s murdered body. The show's second season picks up three weeks after an arrest warrant was issued for Andrew Earlham for the sexual assault of 19 women. When Andrew’s body is found in the Kent marshes, Detective Inspector Renton alongside DS Rory Maxwell are tasked with uncovering clues about Andrew’s past and unpacking the events of the three crucial weeks leading up to his murder.
ITV is adding to the cast of Liar. Katherine Kelly (Mr Selfridge, The Night Manager), Howard Charles (The Widow, Musketeers) and Amy Nuttall (Downton Abbey, My Fair Lady) have joined the series for its upcoming second season. Katherine Kelly has been cast as DI Karen Renton; Howard Charles as Carl Peterson and Amy Nuttall as Winnie Peterson. They join returning main cast members Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) and Ioan Gruffudd (Forever).
