BBC One has handed out a second season renewal to their Tom Davis fronted series King Gary. Six episodes have been ordered for the show's second season. The renewal comes shortly after the first season wrapped its run and on the back of strong figures on iPlayer. The BBC said it had attracted over 2 million views on the streaming service.

After piloting the project as part of their Comedy Playhouse strand this past December, BBC One has picked up King Gary to series with a six episode order. Production on the first season gets underway this weekend ahead of a 2020 premiere.

Both shows were announced today by the BBC's Director of Content Charlotte Moore at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
