ITV has handed out a second season renewal to their comedy series Kate & Koji, TVWise has learned. Jimmy Akingbola has been forced to exit the series due to his commitments to Peacock's The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air dramatic reboot Bel-Air. Okorie Chukwu (Luther) has joined the cast and will assume the role of Koji.

ITV has rounded out the cast for Kate & Koji (formerly known as Kate And Kolo). Blake Harrison (A Very English Scandal, World On Fire) and Barbara Flynn (Pat & Cabbage, Death In Paradise) have been tapped to star opposite Brenda Blethyn and Jimmy Akingbola in the six episode studio sitcom. Additionally, Meera Syal (The Split, Goodness Gracious Me) will guest star.

The broadcaster has ordered Kate And Kolo, a six episode studio sitcom starring Brenda Blethyn (Vera) and Jimmy Akingbola (In The Long Run). Kate And Kolo follows Kate (Brenda Blethyn), a working-class woman who runs an old-fashioned café in a neglected seaside town and who develops a strong, if sometimes volatile, friendship with Kolo (Jimmy Akingbola), an asylum-seeking African doctor.
