Maria Friedman, Mel Giedroyc Join ITV’s ‘The Sound Of Music Live!’
ITV is continuing to add to the cast of The Sound Of Music Live! Maria Friedman (The Woman in White, Chicago) and Mel Giedroyc (Sadie J, The Great British Bake Off) have landed co-starring roles opposite lead Kara Tointon in ITV's live production based on the original musical, which is set to air this Christmas. 
ITV has set the core cast for Marcella. Anna Friel, who most recently starred in NBC's thriller series American Odyssey (pictured), has been tapped to play the lead in the eight episode cop drama from Broen (AKA The Bridge) creator Hans Rosenfeld, TVWise has learned. Jamie Bamber (The Smoke) and Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey) have also been cast.
After nine seasons on air, Morse follow-up Lewis is coming to an end. ITV has announced that the drama series starring Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox will not return for a tenth season. The November 10th season finale will also serve as the series finale. 
ITV is moving forward with The Sound Of Music. The commercial broadcaster has given the official greenlight to a two and a half hour live production based on the original stage musical featuring an all-star cast that includes, amongst others, Kara Tointon (Mr Selfridge) and Julian Ovenden (Smash). The Sound Of Music Live! will air on ITV this Christmas.
Fresh off of unveiling the supporting cast for Victoria, ITV and series producers Mammoth Screen have released a first look image of former Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman in character as Queen Victoria. 
ITV has given the green-light to The Secret, a three-part drama about killer dentist Colin Howell starring James Nesbitt (Babylon) and Genevieve O’Reilly (The Honourable Woman) which hails from Hat Trick Productions and Stuart Urban, TVWise has learned.
