ITV has ordered Finding Alice, a six episode contemporary drama series starring Bodyguard and The Durrells star Finding Alice. Hawes, who co-created the drama, will star in the titular role as Alice. 
Russell Tovey (Looking, Years And Years) has been set as the lead in Because The Night, ITV's four-part supernatural thriller from Luther creator Neil Cross that is inspired by his novel Burial. "Because the Night is going to challenge me as an actor more than I’ve ever been challenged before", Russell Tovey said in a statement. "As a web of lies, that he thought was dead and buried, comes back to haunt Nathan, he sinks deeper and deeper into the horror of the event that happened ten years ago. I cannot wait to start filming and join this amazing team and cast " 
Sunetra Sarker (Ackley Bridge), Claire Keelan (The Trip) and Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones) have been tapped for guest starring roles on the upcoming six episode ninth season of ITV's Cold Feet. 
Months after word of the project first leaked out, ITV has confirmed that they have ordered White House Farm, a six-part true crime drama starring Freddie Fox (Year Of The Rabbit) and Mark Addy (Game Of Thrones) that is based on the Jeremy Bamber case from the 1980s. Alongside confirming details of the drama, ITV has also released five first look images. 
Joanna Scanlan (No Offence, The Thick Of It) and Hugh Dennis (Fleabag, Outnumbered) are set to guest star opposite series leads Jason Watkins (The Crown) and Tala Gouveia (Cold Feet) in ITV's Invisible. 
The ninth season of Doc Martin will premiere on ITV on Wednesday September 25th at 9pm, it has been announced. 
ITV has ordered Too Close, a three-part adaptation of the novel by Clara Salaman (written under the pen name Natalie Daniels). Emily Watson (A Song For Jenny, Chernobyl) is attached to star. Too Close tells the powerful story of how two women become dangerously close when fate forces them together. Dedicated forensic psychiatrist, Dr Emma Robinson (Watson) is not easily shocked. She’s worked with her fair share of high security patients. Then she’s sent to assess Connie for trial. Connie has a searing insight into Emma’s deepest insecurities and starts to brutally exploit them. 
Despite recent comments from Kevin Lygo, ITV is giving scripted comedy on the main channel yet another shot. The broadcaster has ordered Kate And Kolo, a six episode studio sitcom starring Brenda Blethyn (Vera) and Jimmy Akingbola (In The Long Run). Kate And Kolo follows Kate (Brenda Blethyn), a working-class woman who runs an old-fashioned café in a neglected seaside town and who develops a strong, if sometimes volatile, friendship with Kolo (Jimmy Akingbola), an asylum-seeking African doctor.
